Coastal Wolf

May 5 2019- A very special encounter with a Coastal Wolf topping off a day of Killer Whales!

The Sunday afternoon zodiac trip set off under blue skies and only got better from there. Captain Marty  was able to find a pair of Transient Killer Whales. The two whales were  T125A and T128, a pair of brothers.

The trip highlight was the rare sighting of the coastal wolf, “Staqeya”. The wolf has lived alone on Discovery Island for a number of years and camouflages well among the trees and rocky shoreline. On this trip, our lucky passengers watched the wolf for a full twenty minutes. A once in a lifetime experience for sure.
