People Make the Difference!
SpringTide Customer Service Representatives are available to assist you in all aspects of the excursion – happy to offer advice on what to bring, assist in the suiting of all-weather suits, and to provide complimentary coffees and hot chocolate before, during and after the trip! Our friendly staff, instantly recognizable in their red SpringTide vests, are delighted to provide Whale Watching participants information on their favourite destinations in town – from a local’s point of view!
SpringTide has become highly respected and well known for their superior narrative program and professional tour management.
Our Captains are top in their field, providing safe, respectful and ecologically sensitive vessel management. Our team of naturalists has many years of experience to complement their Bachelor of Science degrees and impart their extensive knowledge to the delight of our passengers.
SPRINGTIDE WHALE TOURS is owned and operated by Joanne & Dan Kukat. Dan earned his Bachelor of Commerce at the University of BC, followed by post graduate work as a Chartered Accountant. Joanne, also a UBC Commerce graduate, has had successful Sales and Customer Service careers with IBM and Digital Equipment Corporation (now Hewlett Packard). Dan and Joanne have operated SpringTide Charters in Victoria for over sixteen years. Jaclyn Kukat is in her third year of studies at the University of Victoria, with a Major in Biology and Minor in Business. She enjoys her time crewing onboard the Marauder IV and sharing her knowledge of our mammals, marine birds and local history. Carleen Kukat is spending the summer in our Reservations Office assisting our guests with information on our whale tours, harbour tours and special event charters. Carleen’s longer term goal is to become a Zodiac Skipper!
